Sampling Underwear: What to Check Before You Approve

A pre-production sample is the last cheap chance to catch a problem. These are the points worth checking on a sample before you approve a bulk order.

A sample is where a difference of a centimetre or a shade becomes visible. Approving it means you accept the product as your reference for the whole order, so it is worth checking carefully.

Fit and Measurements

Check the sample against the measurements you agreed. Confirm the size range it represents and whether the grading across sizes matches what you expect.

Colour and Material

Compare the colour against the agreed reference under the same light you will use when selling. Confirm the material feel and stretch at the points that matter for wear — straps, underband and edges.

Construction and Finish

Look at seams, bonding, hooks and any trims. Check that the finish is consistent around the piece and that branding elements such as labels sit where you want them.
Fix it on the sample, not on the bulk order.

Then Give Clear Feedback

Send your comments as a short list tied to the sample: what is correct, what changes, and what must stay the same. A clear reference makes the bulk order far more likely to match.
